Wall Street closes up for day and week
FXstreet.com (San Francisco) - After jumping up the final half hour, Wall Street closed Friday modestly higher and the week with strong gains as risk appetite has prevailed throughout the whole week. Nasdaq was the best performed of the major indexes while the Dow and the S&P closed just below record highs.
The Dow Jones advanced 35.87 points or 0.24% to close at 15,118.49. The DJIA advanced 0.97% on the week. The S&P 500 added 7.03 points or 0.43% to 1,633.70. The index climbed 1.19% on weekly basis.
The Nasdaq jumped 27.41 points or 0.80% to 3,436.58. The Composite rallied 1.72% on the week.
