GBP/USD lying low at 1.6621 ahead of MPC minutes

FXStreet (Moscow) - GBP/USD is trading in a narrow range with a slight bearish bias as the pair opened at 1.6726 in Asian ad settled at 1.6721 after touching the intraday low at 1.6714

MPC minutes vs. Carney's comments

GBP/USD managed to settle above 1.6700 level after opening with the gap higher on Monday, which give it a slight bullish scent. Today investors are waiting for MOC minutes from the recent meeting to be published. They hope to get a clearer picture of what’s going in BOE behind the scene. Mark Carney dropped a bombshell onto the markets during weekends, but now investors want a confirmation of truly more hawkish BOE. Most likely, a sign of clear dissent among the MPC members during the discussion provide GBP with the additional upside momentum with the initial aim at 1.6750/56. Once broken, the pair might move towards 1.6780. On the downside the support is seen at 1.6710/00.

What are today’s key GBP/USD levels?

Today's central pivot point can be found at 1.6727, with support below at 1.6714, 1.6701 and 1.6688 with resistance above at 1.6740, 1.6753, and 1.6766. Hourly Moving Averages are bearish, with the 200SMA bearish at 1.6762, and the daily 20EMA bearish at 1.6852. Hourly RSI is bearish at 46.
