In a widely expected decision, the Bank of Canada maintained its target for the overnight rate at 1.75% and noted that the Governing Council continues to judge that the policy interest rate will need to rise over time into a neutral range to achieve the inflation target. At 16:15 GMT, Governor Stephen S. Poloz, and Senior Deputy Governor Carolyn A. Wilkins will be delivering their remarks on the monetary policy outlook and will also respond to questions in a press conference.
