Canada: Ivey PMI improves to 59.7 in December vs 56.8 expected

The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index (PMI), an economic index which measures the month to month variation in economic activity, improved to 59.7 (seasonally adjusted) in December from 57.2 in November and beat the market expectation of 56.8. Below are the (seasonally adjusted) sub-indexes.

• Ivey Employment Index 54 vs 54.1 in November.
• Ivey Inventories Index 52.5 vs 55 in November.
• Ivey Supplier Deliveries Index 43.8 vs 40.8 in November.
• Ivey Prices Index fell to 64.6 vs 63.7 in November.
