US: Headline inflation likely declined 0.1% in December - NBF
Analysts at National Bank Financial suggest that this week in the U.S, a lot of attention will be focused on the publication of December’s consumer price index.
Key Quotes
“Headline prices could have declined 0.1% in the month, hampered by a larger-than-normal drop in gasoline prices. As a result, the year-on-year rate may retrace three ticks to 1.9%. The core index, for its part, could have increased 0.2%, allowing the annual rate to remain unchanged at 2.2%.”
“Several indicators for November will also be released including the trade balance, the Job Opening and Labor Turnover Survey and consumer credit. Finally, the Fed will release the minutes of its December 19 meeting.”
