Canada: Labour force survey to print -25K for December - NBF
In view of analysts at NBF, Canada’s December’s labour force survey is likely to print -25K print following November’s blockbuster result (+94.1K, the largest gain observed in the survey’s 40-year history).
“It would bring total job creation for 2018 to 129K, below the historical average (~210K) but still decent considering that 2017 had been the third best year ever (+427K). The unemployment rate, meanwhile, could gain one tick at 5.7%.”
“The first clues on the state of the manufacturing sector in December will also be available with the publication Markit’s manufacturing PMI.”
