Nuclear weapons a war deterrent, says North Korean leader

FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - North Korean leader Kim Jong-un said in a speech to the central committee of the ruling Workers Party of North Korea that the intention of developing nuclear weapons is aimed as a deterrent to potential aggresions and as a vehicle to protect the country from external threats.

"Our nuclear strength is a reliable war deterrent and a guarantee to protect our sovereignty" he said.

Forex: USD/JPY enters 92.40/75 demand after 92.95 break

With all the attention on the 'not as dovish' RBA statement, the Yen enjoyed a powerful 50 pips spike ahead of the Australian risk event, breaking through 92.94 support with the exchange rate now floating inside a first area of demand comprised between 92.40 and 92.75, where some challenge to the recent cascade of offers is expected.

Today's Asia-Pacific session has had a common denominator in the form of a falling USD across the board, and specially against Yen, that has seen a 1-month fresh high printing a low at 92.55 in the USD/JPY pair, something not seen since early March. Strangely enough, Gold has printed fresh session highs at $1604 at the same time.
