US: Focus on jobless claims and wholesale inventories data - TDS

According to analysts at TDS, the market expects US initial jobless claims to edge slightly higher to 232k for the week of November 4.

Key Quotes

“The final print for September wholesale inventories is the only other release; markets do not look for any change from the preliminary 0.3% increase and expect wholesale sales to rise by 0.9% on the month. Unconfirmed reports have also suggested the Senate will release its draft tax reform bill at some point on Thursday.”

“Canada: The New House Price Index will give an update on shelter costs for September. The market consensus is for a 0.2% advance, which if realized would leave new home prices up 3.8% on a year-ago basis—unchanged from August.”
