BOJ's Kuroda - May review ETF purchases in futures
Bank of Japan (BOJ) governor Kuroda said the central bank may review ETF (Exchange Traded Funds) in futures, but for now, it is buying ETF as a part of a package of steps to achieve 2 percent inflation.
- ETF buying doesn't aim at pushing up stock prices, target specific stock level
- Will debate exit strategy from easy policy
- It is true bond market vol has become very low in Japan but vol is also low in Europe, where ECB has taken non-orthodox monpol
- BOJ is exchanging views with ECB to ensure central banks can deal appropriately if low volatility destabilises markets
