Australian Oct jobs: Stellar figures all around

FXStreet (Bali) - Australia published stellar employment figures for the month of October, with the ABS reporting an increase in employment jobs change by 58.6k (seasonally adjusted).

Full-time jobs came in at 40k vs -10.4k last, while part-time saw a jump of 18.6k. Australian unemployment rate ticked down to 5.9% vs 6.2% expected and 6.2% last, with the participation rate at 65% vs 64.9% exp and 64.9% last.

TREND ESTIMATES (MONTHLY CHANGE)

Employment increased to 11,815,400.
Unemployment decreased to 764,900.
Unemployment rate remained steady at 6.1%.
Participation rate remained steady at 65.0%.
Monthly hours worked in all jobs increased 5.7 million hours to 1,647.1 million hours.

SEASONALLY ADJUSTED ESTIMATES (MONTHLY CHANGE)

Employment increased 58,600 to 11,838,200. Full-time employment increased 40,000 to 8,171,600 and part-time employment increased 18,600 to 3,666,600.
Unemployment decreased 33,400 to 739,500. The number of unemployed persons looking for full-time work decreased 30,300 to 526,300 and the number of unemployed persons only looking for part-time work decreased 3,100 to 213,200.
Unemployment rate decreased 0.3 pts to 5.9%.
Participation rate increased 0.1 pts to 65.0%.
Monthly hours worked in all jobs increased 19.1 million hours (1.2%) to 1,660.4 million hours.
