Speculators increased net bullish bets in 10-year treasury note futures

FXStreet (Mumbai) - The data released by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) shows speculators boosted their overall positions in favour of 10-year notes last week, taking the net positions to the bullish side from the previous week’s bearish total.

The non-commercial futures contracts of the 10-year treasury notes, primarily traded by large speculators and hedge funds, witnessed a weekly change of +20,235 net contracts to total a net position of +17,692 contracts in the data reported for October 13th. Long positions in 10-year futures rose by +20,024 contracts, while the short positions declined by 211 contracts.

Meanwhile, the commercials, hedgers or traders engaged in buying and selling for business purposes, reduced their overall bullish positions to a total net position of +51,248 contracts through October 13th.
