Fed: Yellen signals at 2015 lift-off – TDS

FXStreet (Delhi) – Prashant Newnaha, Rates Strategist at TD Securities, suggests that the Fed chair Janet Yellen has pointed towards 2015 rate hike when she said that “most on the FOMC ’including myself’ expect 2015 lift-off (barring any unforeseen circumstances).”

“Yellen’s speech this time took on a hawkish interpretation. She also said that the factors weighing on inflation are likely to be transitory. All up it appeared that the bar to hike in Dec may not be high after all. In Asia the USD has been better bid vs the entire G10 space following Yellen’s speech, +0.3%, after closing flat at the end of the US session.”
