AUD/USD moves off lows after FOMC minutes

FXStreet (Córdoba) - AUD/USD moved off daily lows and trimmed intraday losses after FOMC minutes showed members debated what language to use to address the pace of coming rate hikes.

AUD/USD rose nearly half a cent from an 8-day low of 0.8611 to a session high of 0.8656 as the dollar retreated across the board after the minutes. However, Aussie remains among the worst performers Wednesday, currently trading at 0.8635, 0.96% below its opening price.

AUD/USD technical levels

In terms of technical levels, next supports for AUD/USD are seen at 0.8611 (Nov 19 low), 0.8590 (Nov 11 low) and 0.8540 (2014 low Nov 7). On the other hand, resistance could be found at 0.8673 (10-day SMA), 0.8720 (20-day SMA/Nov 19 high) and 0.8746 (Nov 18 high).

Gold weakens maringally after Fed minutes

Gold prices declined after the release of the Fed minutes, which revealed policymakers were concerned about the falling inflation expectations.
