Wall Street closed mixed on Friday but up for 4th week

FXStreet (San Francisco) - The US stocks market closed mixed on Friday as investors welcomed upbeat US economic data. Major indexes closed up for the fourth consecutive week. Oil ended 3% down in the week.

US Retail sales rose 0.3%, above expectations; while the Michigan consumer sentiment jumped to 7-year highs. Business inventories climbed in September.

The Dow Jones declined 18.05 points or 0.10% to finish the session at 17,634.74; the DJIA closed 0.36% positive on the week. The S&P 500 advanced 8.40 points or 0.18% to end at 4,688.54; 1.21% positive in the weekly basis.

The Nasdaq added 0.49 points or 0.02% to 2,039.82; the Composite rose 0.39% on the week.
