NZD/USD fights for 0.7900 resistance

FXStreet (Moscow) - NZD/USD  is trying hard to get above 0.7900 resistance level; the pair reached the Asian high at 0.7908, but retreated towards o.7895.

NZD/USD has been growing for the third day in a row. The upside has little to do with New Zealand fundamentals as RBNZ meeting proved that the bank is on hold for a foreseeable future. he movement looks more like a corrective rebound within a short-term consolidation pattern. Note that on the intraday time-frames Kiwi is trending higher with no clear signs of reversal. It means that the pair might continue its trip to the North, if it manages go past 0.7900 hurdle. Once the resistance is broken, the upside may extend towards 0.7927 and 0.7950. A failure here would return NZD/USD to 0.7835.20 support area.

What are today’s key NZD/USD levels?

Today's central pivot point can be found at 0.7882, with support below at 0.7860, 0.7824 and 0.7802, with resistance above at 0.7918, 0.7940 and 0.7976. Hourly Moving Averages are bearish, with the 200SMA bearish at 0.7919 and the daily 20EMA bearish at 0.7922. Hourly RSI is bullish at 59.
