DJIA weakens 0.40%

FXStreet (Mumbai) - The US Equity markets trading lower today with the DJIA down 0.40% to trade at 16,737.5 levels.

The index breadth is negative with an advance decline ratio of 10:20. Among the index stocks, Caterpillar, Chevron and ExxonMobil have lost more than 1.5% each. Energy producers have come under pressure after Goldman Sachs cut its Crude oil price forecast for Q1 2015 by USD 15. Energy producers in the S&P 500 are down 2%. Meanwhile, Wal-mart, Procter&Gamble and Verizon have gained 0.70% each.

Elsewhere, the S&P 500 and the NASDAQ futures are trading lower by 0.62% and 0.44% respectively.

DJIA Technical levels

The index has an immediate resistance of 16,746 (June 26th low), above which prices can re-test 16,800 levels. Meanwhile, a failure to rise above 16,746 can push the index down to 16,674 levels.
