The higher US dollar trend will reassert itself - SocGen

FXStreet (Bali) - Societe Generale continues to see the Fed hiking rates in 2015, which should lead to a resumption of the USD trend after positions have been squared in both the currency and bond markets.

Key Quotes

"We remain steadfast of the view that the Fed will hike rates in 2015. The US economic recovery is not under significant threat, and the Fed knows that the current level of rates is an extraordinary arrangement that should not persist indefinitely as the unemployment rate falls and the economy grows."

"As such the higher dollar trend will reassert itself after positions have been squared in both the currency and bond markets. The correction of the high yield and commodity currency bloc has further to play out, and euro will continue to be dragged down by weak growth and deflation fears. Meanwhile, the yen has outperformed amid global risk aversion as commodity currencies weaken."

China MNI Business Sentiment Indicator declined to 51.7 from previous 52.2
